Food For Staying Healthy

People often say, “You are what you eat”. Good health reflects you eating right! Having the right food in the right quantity can help you live a longer and a healthier life. Many illnesses and conditions—such as heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes—can be prevented or controlled by eating right. A healthy diet also provides the vitamins and minerals you need.

Several food items, which can help achieve good health, are:

  • Cucumber

Cucumber is a great choice since it has 95% water content and is highly rich in potassium. Another factor, which makes it a great for the calorie conscious people is that it improves blood circulation.

Salads

Rather than having chocolates, sandwiches and biscuits for snacks and breakfasts it is advisable to have salads, which are packed with goodness and are low on calories, being high on roughage.

Sprouts

Sprouts, which are both healthy and tasty, are rich in Vitamin C and protein. Sprouts can be eaten raw or can be partially cooked/ steamed. It is always advised to eat sprouts fresh, to get the maximum benefits
